A special evening will soon be arranged soon by Lahore Arts Council in honour of Mehdi Hassan, the living legend of Pakistani music, said Punjab Minister for Culture & Youth Affairs, Dr Tanvirul Islam.

The minister had gone to the residence of legendry singer and 'Shehanshah-e-Ghazal' Mehdi Hassan to inquire about his health and wellbeing, according to official sources.

Paying rich tribute to the services of the music maestro, he said that Mehdi Hassan has given a unique style to ghazal- singing in the sub-continent, and his rich voice has touched the hearts of all listeners through decades.

He said that a summary has been sent to the Chief Minister Punjab for extending maximum financial assistance to Mehdi Hassan. The singer thanked the minister for the visit.
